Our asbestos sealer, SPS Fiber Sealer, has been developed as an extra measure to eliminate microscopic asbestos fibers by permanently sealing them to the surface.
SPS Fiber Sealer should never replace thorough asbestos remediation, but it is a unique tool for controlling the smallest and most difficult asbestos fibers.
As the only product on the market, it permanently seals asbestos fibers while remaining diffusion-open for moisture. Therefore, SPS Fiber Sealer can be used on wood, which is typically the most challenging surface to remediate for asbestos.

SPS Fiber Sealer – Developed in collaboration with the best.
There are already products on the market to temporarily bind asbestos fibers. SPS Fiber Sealer has been developed in collaboration with consulting engineers, including COWI A/S and Dines Jørgensen Miljø & Geoteknik A/S, in response to a need for a permanent and moisture-permeable sealer for asbestos. Additionally, documentation is being continuously tested and documented by Force Technology A/S and Eurofins Laboratory A/S. You can download the report from Force Technology here.
During the development process, SPS Fiber Sealer has been tested both in-house and by several reputable demolition companies, including Tscherning A/S and Arly Hockerup ApS.

Effective asbestos sealing
At TWO Teknik, we recommend that asbestos sealing should only be used as part of an asbestos remediation process and never as an isolated solution for an asbestos case.
The sealing is highly effective but should not precede a professional remediation where as much asbestos as possible is removed.

Why asbestos sealing?
Asbestos is very difficult and sometimes even impossible to remediate 100% free of asbestos. On a very rough surface such as rough wood, roofing felt, roof structures made of beams, etc., asbestos fibers can almost always be found, even after a very thorough remediation. On surfaces such as insulation, asbestos cannot be remediated at all, and it must be replaced without the use of SPS Fiber Sealer, even if the insulation itself is not faulty.
It is very important to mention that asbestos sealing should never precede a thorough remediation performed by professionals. However, asbestos sealing with SPS Fiber Sealer ensures that the very small fibers that cannot be removed during remediation are permanently sealed.
SPS Fiber Sealer is a unique sealer that permanently locks asbestos fibers to the surface in a closed system, while remaining diffusion-open for moisture. This characteristic allows SPS Fiber Sealer to be used on surfaces that need to breathe, such as wood structures.
Asbestos sealing provides additional assurance that asbestos fibers won’t become airborne and spread, and it’s also cost-effective. With a square meter price ranging from DKK 14 to 20 excluding VAT, the cost is manageable, even when using SPS Fiber Sealer as an extra precaution.
SPS Fiber Sealer is a “permanent” product, meaning it does not disappear after 6-12 months, requiring the process to be repeated shortly thereafter with recurring costs. SPS Fiber Sealer has an extremely long lifespan, provided the surface is not constantly exposed to UV radiation and moisture. On roof structures and other surfaces under shelter, the sealing effect is expected to last for at least 20 years.

What does asbestos sealing cost?
The price of asbestos sealing depends on the surface being worked on. Asbestos sealing with SPS Fiber Sealer is cost-effective and can also save money on projects where materials can be sealed instead of replaced.
For a strongly absorbent or rough surface like boards or rough concrete, the price is approximately DKK 20 per square meter excluding VAT. For a weakly or non-absorbent, smooth and even surface, the price is around DKK 14 per square meter excluding VAT.

No, we never conduct gel tape tests ourselves, as we are not impartial in that context. We always leave the testing work to experienced environmental consultants.

SPS Fiber Sealer should be applied in an amount that ensures the surface is uniformly and consistently wetted. After curing, there should be a visible transparent film on the surface; if not, the treatment should be repeated.
